Healing Rooms have been operating in Scotland since 2004, and as of May 2010 there are 39 rooms open across the nation. There are currently 5 rooms in Glasgow and others in nearby towns such as East Kilbride, Johnstone and Kilsyth.
A Healing Room is simply a place where anyone can come to receive free prayer for healing of any condition where they will be prayed for in a private setting by a team of trained Christian volunteers who come from various churches.
We also have other activities going on such as street ministry in the heart of Glasgow every Saturday evening, outreach into Kilmarnock Prison every Friday afternoon, and teams going into psychic fairs several times a year.
We have seen many people healed physically, emotionally and mentally, and a significant number of people come to faith in Christ. Here are a couple of people’s stories:
“When I passed a crowd of people in the mall I thought, ‘what’s going on’ and then I saw the words ‘healing room’, and I thought I need that! I was so down and depressed for such a long time I really wanted to kill myself. I thought no-one could help me, yet I wanted help so much. So I went in for prayer and felt a burning feeling on my head. Within three days the depression had gone and I knew I was well.”
“I came along to the Healing Rooms to be prayed for as I have had very bad arthritis for a long time, especially in my right hand. I have been healed and I feel alive for the first time in many years (the depression that had been over me has gone too!) I know that God is in my life and I feel full up and much more positive than I have for a long time. I am writing this testimony at speed with my right hand, yahoo! I hadn’t been able to write for such a long time.”
