Book review
Jesus@Work: being a disciple for Jesus in the workplace
by Graham Beynon

Review by Julie Hoey

"Being a disciple is essential for any Christian at work - this book succinctly tells you why and brilliantly shows you how" --Sir Peter Vardy, The Vardy Foundation

In under 30 pages, this book sets out the Biblical view of work and gives practical guidance about how we can apply those truths in our daily working lives.  It argues that Christians should be the most positive yet the most realistic people at work.  It touches on most issues that people face (honesty and integrity; dealing with difficult people; how to serve a bad boss; motivation; workaholism) and encourages the reader to explore the issues in more detail through further reading (the book concludes with a short list of helpful books).

Because the book is brief and easy to read, it is very suitable for people whose work is time-consuming or all-consuming and who might not even consider reading a longer book on this subject.  It could be read on the daily commute or on a lunchbreak.  It would also be a useful resource for a small group to read together to help them to pray for one another at work.

It comes at a small price - £3.50 - and even less if you buy direct from the publisher.  Quantity discounts also apply, making it the sort of book you could buy in bulk and share with friends or family members.
